Educators at Judaics Tutoring NYC are dedicated to individualizing the Jewish learning experience for each learner. These talented tutors have strong Hebrew and Jewish text backgrounds, and are all knowledgeable, creative, and highly enthusiastic about engaging learners in ways that fit each each learner’s questions, interests and learning styles. RONI T.

Roni has taught kids and adults for over 15 years. He was raised in the suburbs of Maryland and attended Jewish day school, after which he spent a year studying in Israel. He has a broad knowledge of Jewish text, and he helps students of all backgrounds connect with Judaism in the way they most feel comfortable. Roni is also proficient in Torah reading, leading prayer services, and Hebrew. He loves creating an engaging learning experience for his students, no matter where they are on their journey or how young or old they may be, making sure they feel supported and celebrated every step of the way.

ELIANA:

Eliana recently earned her PhD in the History Department at the University of Minnesota, where she studied the way America remembers acts of violence. She is a post-doc fellow at Brown University. After completing her undergraduate degree at Bryn Mawr College, she studied at Pardes Institute for Jewish Studies in Jerusalem and the Hadar Institute in New York. Eliana has been reading Torah since her bat mitzvah and also reads High Holiday, haftarah, Megillat Esther, and Lamentations tropes. She has led tefillah (prayer) in Jewish communities everywhere she has lived, and has tutored students in Chicago, New York, and Minneapolis. Eliana is a kind, dedicated teacher who has taught Torah, basic Judaism and tefillah and has worked with students to prepare meaningful divrei Torah (words of Torah) for their b mitzvah.

DIDI:

Didi is a thoughtful and engaging Jewish educator with extensive experience in informal settings. He worked most recently at the Heschel High School in Jewish and student life. Previous stops include Camp Ramah in the Berkshires and Camp Ramah in New England, where he was the program coordinator. Didi has also enjoyed his work as a religious school teacher and b-mitzvah tutor for elementary and middle school children. Didi’s expertise in experiential Jewish education and his work with multiple ages allows him to work with many diverse learning styles and facilitate highly engaging learning experiences. A Jewish day school graduate, Didi has BA in philosophy and psychology and is currently pursuing a PsyD and M.S-ED at Pace University. Didi loves sports and music, and his three favorite books are Genesis, Charlotte’s Web and Anna Karenina.

HANNAH:

Hannah has a passion for sharing Jewish knowledge while cultivating personal connection, curiosity, and meaning to Judaism. As a lifetime Jewish learner, she loves to engage students in developing their own connections and text skills and utilizes a variety of strategies to meet the diverse learning needs. She holds a M. Ed. in special education from the University of Delaware and a certificate of advanced Jewish studies from Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies. Hannah is currently a teacher at a NYC Jewish day school for children with language-based learning differences. 

AUGUST:

August is a compassionate and creative educator with a strong teaching background in Jewish and non-Jewish settings. He spent time teaching Hebrew and Judaic Studies to a wide range of ages, from elementary school students to adults. August has worked in various synagogues across the country as a lead Hebrew and religious school teacher. As a Fulbright Fellow from 2021-2022, he taught English to students in Berlin, Germany while also studying Jewish Philosophy at the University of Potsdam and the Freie Universität. A dedicated lover of Yiddish, August was an active member of Yiddish Berlin and an alumnus of the Uriel Weinreich Summer Yiddish Program at the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. Currently, August serves on the programming team at YIVO.


DAVID:

David is an experienced and caring Jewish educator living in Israel. Ordained by Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and graduate of the Pardes Educators Program, he has taught for more than 10 years in Chicago, New York City, and Detroit, Michigan where he was the School Rabbi for the past 7 years before making Aliyah, moving to Israel. He loves helping students create their own personal connection with Judaism and spirituality. David is the proud father of four and loves running and reading in his free time.

RONI S.

Roni S. is passionate about Judaism and dedicated to inspiring the next generation of Jewish learners. He graduated summa cum laude from Carnegie Mellon University in 2022 with a degree in Global Studies. Since then, he has worked as a program coordinator, tutor, and educator within the Jewish community,  focusing on creating engaging learning opportunities around Jewish life and texts. Most recently, Roni served as the Hebrew Coordinator at Central Synagogue’s Hebrew School. He has deepened his study of Jewish texts through several fellowships, including the Hadar Beit Midrash Fellowship in 2023 and the Center for Modern Torah Leadership’s Beit Midrash Fellowship during the summers of 2024 and 2025. He also organizes regular communal learning initiatives and participates in advanced Talmud and Halacha classes. Roni is currently a PhD student at Brandeis University, where he studies the history of Jewish law in the Islamic world.

TZACHI

Tzachi is a proud and dedicated Judaic studies teacher who is passionate about Jewish text, pedagogy, and emotional intelligence. He weaves these disciplines together while teaching Hebrew Bible and rabbinic literature to eager middle schoolers at a NYC Jewish day school. Known for his patience, empathy, and humor, Tzachi builds strong connections and helps learners become knowledgeable, thoughtful, and authentic individuals grounded in Jewish texts and teachings.

LEAT

Leat is a passionate Jewish educator, artist, and mother who brings joy, compassion, play, and grit into every learning space. Having grown up in Israel, Leat brings lived cultural and linguistic experience to her teaching of Hebrew language and Judaic studies, drawing on over two decades of experience across ages, disciplines, and continents. She thrives in progressive educational landscapes and creates engaging, inclusive learning experiences rooted in Jewish values and practice. Leat holds both an MSEd and an MFA, blending strong pedagogy with creativity in her teaching.
